Dear friends and followers, welcome back to my channel!
On the 20th of February 2021, a United Boeing 777-200, registration N772UA performing flight UA-328 from Denver,CO to Honolulu,HI (USA) with 231 passengers and 10 crew, was in the initial climb out of Denver's runway 25 when the right hand engine's (PW4077) inlet separated associated with the failure of the engine. The crew declared Mayday reporting an engine failure. The aircraft stopped the climb at about 13000 feet, the crew requested to return to Denver after running the checklists. ATC offered any runway, they would make it happen. The aircraft returned to Denver for a safe landing on runway 26 about 23 minutes after departure. The aircraft stopped on the runway for a check by emergency services. Emergency services advised of an active fire within the right hand engine and extinguished the fire a few minutes later. The aircraft was subsequently towed off the runway to a remote parking stand, where passengers disembarked and were bussed to the terminal. There were no injuries.
The engine inlet fell into the neighbourhood of Broomfield,CO, located about 16nm west of Denver near 13th and Elmwood Street, the debris also struck through the roof of an adjacent house.
Broomfield police reported that although debris impacted the neighbourhood and damaged a number of homes, there were no injuries on the ground. The debris field expands over a nautical mile.
Ground observers reported hearing the sound of an explosion like bang, smoke and saw the debris falling down. The aircraft continued flying.
Watch the video to learn more about what happened!
Thank you very much for your time! I hope you enjoy this video!
Wishing you all the best!

Oh Captain my Captain. Regarding the left-hand turn to go back to KDEN. Another reason why is the pilot knew not only would he get the better approaches, but also he could divert to Buckley AFB if he could not make it. Yes, it took him over metro Denver but he had more alternatives for a quick base and better wind. We had 13 gusting 22 that day due to a low front.

Are checklists more important than landing the plane immediately? Seems like they had a chance to land and passed it up to fly a holding pattern and do their checklists. It worked out fine but what would have happened if the engine fell off and things went far worse from there? Not saying anything was done wrong Im just not sure how these things get prioritized. Good video

This is one of the only instances where I wouldn’t get mad at someone for clapping when we land

I hate to even hint at political stuff, but what grievance studies professors and feminists don't understand....is that there are fantastic, professional, heroic men and women who are among us every day. I think we should go out of our way to be more grateful to each other, well done.

Cool video and glad everyone made it ok. but I am confused why the pilots chose the furthest runway instead of 35 L?. It's just as long as the other runways and instead of making a shallower sweep to get to 35L, they instead make a longer sweep to go to 26. The furthest runway. Seems 35L would have put them on the ground faster.

Surely PAN PAN would have been the better call instead of MAYDAY? Given that only one engine had failed and structurally the plane was ok but obviously a developing situation? 🤷♂️

Awesome commentary and explanation of what the pilots go through during this emergency. Kudos my friend. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!

I know this doesn't have anything to do with the video, but I would like to share these questions and this message with as many people as possible.
1. What do you think happens to someone after they die?
2. Do you think there is an afterlife?
3. If heaven exists, how do you get there?
4. Do you think you are good enough to get into heaven?
I'm definitely not good enough to get into heaven. Here are a few questions to test your goodness:
1. How many lies have you told in your whole life?
2. Have you ever stolen?
3. Have you ever used God's name in vain?
4. Jesus said that "whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Matthew 5:28). Have you ever looked with lust?
5. If you have broken any of these commandments, would you be innocent or guilty on Judgment Day?
6. Would you go to Heaven or Hell?
The Bible says that "all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone" (Revelation 21:8) and "Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people — none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). So, if you are guilty of any of the ten commandments, then you are in trouble when Judgment Day comes! Do you know what God did for guilty sinners so that we wouldn't have to go to Hell?
2,000 years ago, God became a human being, Jesus of Nazareth, who suffered and died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead on the third day, defeating death. The punishment that we deserve for breaking God's law, Jesus took in our place. He paid the fine that we could never pay so that God can legally set us free by forgiving our sins. He is just, by punishing evil through Jesus' death on the cross, while being rich in mercy towards us.
What you have to do is repent, or turn toward God, and believe in Jesus Christ. Don't trust your own goodness, because, as Jesus said, "No one is good — except God alone" (Mark 10:18). Trust alone in the savior. The moment you do that, God will forgive every sin you have ever committed and grant you eternal life, and He will give you a new heart with new desires, so that you will love to do what is right. You will be born again. But you must repent and trust in Jesus.
When are you going to do that?
Here is a short Christian movie on this subject and depression: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcqxzXMRGoc

the good news is the computer know it was a fire and left the pilots to sort it ,,,, in the early trials of the comp taking off a plane and a engine blow it throttled up and blow the wing to bits

Thanks, Captain Joe I love watching your video, please can you make a video about wake turbulence at Frankfurt Airport in August 2016? Turkish Airline just landed the RAM B 737 take off there are so many speculations I am Moroccan Pilot trying to understand the fact, the crew did a fantastic job

Captain Joe. You should do a video on PAN AM flight 914. So do you think that the aircraft is indeed traveling through time?

Flying for so long, can you spot metal fatigue before you fly. Is there a way to spot before the plane off the ground.

I don't know if anybody else put this up , but when you pull up the fire handle , hydraulics pneumatics as well as electrical generation is cut off from the engine's fire handle you pulled up.

Thank God this happened over land. Non-stop to Hawaii is 4 hours between California and Hawaii. Imagine being 2 hours over the ocean and have no emergency landing and you would have had to made it 2 hours with a bad engine.

Serious though the situation was, this was surely a Pan Pan call and not a Mayday. Mayday is for when a ship or aircraft is going down.
Guy Siddons . 1 day ago
The pilot initially called Mayday but wasn't heard by ATC. The pilot should have called Mayday 3 times, with his callsign, then a further Mayday. That was worked out years ago to try to avoid the situation here where the abbreviated form wasn't heard initially. It didn't affect the outcome here but that initial call is vital to get everyone's attention and really shouldn't have been abbrerviated.
